Michael Johnson has been
composing, recording and performing music since 1978 and is the instigator
of Lyrebird Music. He plays various instruments but is probably best
known for his work on the harp. His concerts and recordings feature
this instrument but also include percussion, Guitar, Piano and various
classical instruments. Michael should be familiar to audiences throughout
Australia. His compositions are regularly aired on national radio
and television. Megan Kenny has been a professional flautist for the past 20 years. After studying in Adelaide, she toured with the Australian youth orchestra in Europe and Asia. She has performed with many orchestras including Melbourne Symphony and Opera Orchestra of South Australia. Her magnificent flute playing has been heard on radio and television both here in Australia and abroad. She has a wide repertoire including solo pieces, many of her own compostions, chamber music and collaborations with harp. She
has played alongside such artists as opera singer, Sally-Ann Russell;
popular music artists such as Margaret Urlich, Kate Ceberano, Naked
raven and experimental group Clowns smiling backwards.. Her

Matthew Arnold

Matthew Arnold was born
in Melbourne to a musical family. Travelling the globe, his life experiences
have greatly influenced his place in the musical world. He has been
performing professionally for over twenty years. His violin playing
sits equally well within swing, celtic folk, Indian ragas with a touch
of Grapelli and Reinhardt thrown in for good measure. His unique improvational
style has grabbed the attention of many well known artist such as
Judy Small, Kavisha Mazzella, Debra Byrne, Joe Dolci, The great chefs
of Europe and Tim Finn. |

Evripides Evripidou was born in Cyprus and migrated to Australia when he was 15 years old. Since the age of six he has studied mandolin, clarinet, saxophone, piano and bass and completed courses in classical and jazz guitar. Influenced by the strong rhythms and melodies of a Mediterranean culture, the freedom of jazz and the dicipline and elegance of classical and flaminco styles of musicand his deep experience as a long-time meditator, he has found his 'sound' and fulfillment of expression through his original compositions performed on a vast collection of bass guitars. Evri takes bass playing to an extreme through innovative use of his six and seven string basses and a wide array of effects. |

At the age of ten, David made a quest to find as many sounds as he could from paint cans, old kitchen pots and various household items and impliments. Nothing much has changed! But now he is often described, both here and abroad, as one of the most innovative and musical drummers in the world and a virtuoso musician. He has played with many artists from around the world including Robin Gibb, Stevie Wonder, James Morrison, John Farnham, Don Burrows, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Lary Adler, M.S.O. & S.S.O. Tommy Emmanuel, Dragon, Don McLean and Marcia Hines. |

Light of the moon comprise five of Australia's finest instrumentalists. Well known harp and flute duo, Micheal Johnson and Megan Kenny are joined by violinist; Matthew Arnold; Evri Evripidou on six and seven string electric bass, and the genius percussionist, David Jones. This rare combination of gifted
musicians have a reputation both here and abroad. As soloists and
session musicians they have individually played alongside such artist
as James Morrison, John Farnham, David Herschfelder, Melbourne Symphony
Orchestra, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, John Williams, Judi Connelli, Don
Burrows, Christine Sullivan, Tim Finn, Graeham Goble, Suzanne Johnston,
Margaret Urlich and Kate Ceberano. Light of the Moon perform a fusion
of world/ folk and ambient groove sounds and rhythms, with musical
layers from Tibetan and Japanese singing bowls, temple gongs, chimes
and much more. With compositions drawing influence from Ireland, Japan, India, Spain and South America and from the Renaissance through to Classical, world and Jazz.
