Light of the Moon

Light of the moon comprise five of Australia's finest instrumentalists. Well known harp and flute duo, Micheal Johnson and Megan Kenny are joined by violinist; Matthew Arnold; Evri Evripidou on six and seven string electric bass, and the genius percussionist, David Jones. This rare combination of gifted musicians have a reputation both here and abroad. As soloists and session musicians they have individually played alongside such artist as James Morrison, John Farnham, David Herschfelder, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, John Williams, Judi Connelli, Don Burrows, Christine Sullivan, Tim Finn, Graeham Goble, Suzanne Johnston, Margaret Urlich and Kate Ceberano.

Light of the Moon perform a fusion of world/ folk and ambient groove sounds and rhythms, with musical layers from Tibetan and Japanese singing bowls, temple gongs, chimes and much more. The concerts are set against a backdrop of colourful projected images from the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne filmed by well known cinematographer, Alan Cole.
